R.I.P. 04:15
You made us laugh and you made us cry, And here at the end, we all wonder why. You brought us sorrow and you gave us joy. We all felt like children with new Christmas toys. You seemed so happy almost all of the time, But no one can tell what goes on inside someone else’s mind [CHORUS] Maybe you never asked to be a treasure, But you wore the costume well. Every time we saw you, you looked happy, While you secretly walked through your own private hell. Why do we always blame ourselves when someone we love takes their own life? Why does it always have to feel like we’re balanced on the deadly point of the knife? You brought me peace and you made me weep. You helped me through times when my soul was asleep. I watched as you danced and I laughed as you joked, And I felt all the emotions a scene could evoke. They say as we laugh while he bumbles around That you never can see into the heart of a clown. [REPEAT CHORUS] I guess in the end everybody will die, And each one will leave someone else here to cry. I didn’t know you, but know this is true; You left behind millions who now cry for you. [REPEAT CHORUS]

Many people have their off days or a range of different moods. Sometimes you see things clearly, other days it all seems skewed. Most times you’re Miss Polite, but today you just feel rude. You may look so well put-together, but somehow you’ve come unglued. [CHORUS] Sometimes you want to love, and sometimes you want to fight. Sometimes you swear you can’t tell wrong from right. Whether we bask in the sun or we scurry from the light, Every one of us must live in both day and night. I could always blow my top or just accept what comes to pass. Some days I’m Mister Tact while other times I’m Mister Crass. Just trust me it’s not personal that I’m acting like an ass. I may look so put together, but I’m only made of glass. [REPEAT CHORUS] Day and night, night and day, should we work or should we play? Night or day, day or night, will we love or will we fight? Day or night, night or day, should we work? Should we play? Night or day, day or night, oh. [REPEAT CHORUS]

If your name is Richard Parker, you’d be smart not to join a navy, Because your vessel will likely sink when the ocean gets to wavy. If you make it to a life raft, you may soon run out of food, And when your shipmates get too hungry they will set their sights on you. [CHORUS] If your name is Richard Parker, stay away from the mast. Any voyage out to sea might just turn out to be your last. The most famous of the Richard Parkers, a cabin boy of seventeen, Could not have guessed his fate when Captain Dudley hired a sailing team. A gale made their journey rough as the crew prepared to sleep, Then a strong and terrible wave sent their ship adeep. [REPEAT CHORUS] Four men made it to a lifeboat with just a couple cans of food, Plus the lack of drinking water made it clear that they were screwed. Young Parker drank seawater which made him very ill. The Captain realized the rest could eat if the cabin boy were killed. Hunger, bad weather, and sickness made Richard much too weak to fight. Captain Dudley slit his throat; the survivors ate quite well that night. [REPEAT CHORUS]

You’re a part of my heart; you’re a part of my soul. When I see feel slipping away, I don’t want to let you go. Stay a little more, that’s all I’m asking. You can make me happy. Just stay a little more, that’s all I’m asking You can make me happy. [CHORUS] You make me happy; you make my spirit soar. You make me feel like I’ve never felt before. You make me happy, like we just won the war, But now you’re telling me you’re walking out the door. You make me happy. You make me happy. You made me happy. You make me happy. You make me happy. You used to make me happy. What will I do tomorrow? Won’t even want to wake up. When I saw you slam the door, I didn’t want to break up. Won’t you reconsider me, that’s all I’m asking. You can make me happy. Won’t you just come back to me, that’s what I’m begging. I thought I made you happy. [REPEAT CHORUS] I almost wish I’d never met you. Now I don’t want to let you. What will I do without you? Now I guess that I would always doubt you. You made me happy, you made my spirits fly. You made me feel like I was never gonna die. You just changed everything because you said goodbye. But now I feel like all I’ll ever do is cry. You made me happy. You used to make me happy. You used to make me happy. I used to make you happy.

A million raindrops from her eyes pouring into song, Yet not a one flows anywhere as everything goes wrong. So many souls; so few who care. She rips her heart out ‘til there’s nothing left to share. [CHORUS] There’s nothing left to sing about, no meaning to her song. Her voice has gone silent as everything goes wrong. Yeah. A thousand times she’s agonized, searching for the right words, To describe the torment in her heart in a new way that no one’s heard. So many times her anguish falls on deafened ears. So now she’s numb to everything, Her eyes have no more tears. [REPEAT CHORUS] A million raindrops from her eyes pouring into song, Yet not a one flows anywhere as everything goes wrong. Everything goes wrong. Everything goes wrong.

[CHORUS] I love it when I see old people together. It makes me believe that it just might be true, That two people can love a whole lifetime together. That’s what I’m hoping will happen with me and you. That’s what I’m hoping will happen with me and you. It seems like a good night to stay up with you And count all the stars that reflect in your eyes. We’ll run to the market and pick up some scratch offs. In the lottery of life, I won the grand prize. [REPEAT CHORUS] It seems like a great time to dance in the moonlight ‘til we’re both so tired that we can hardly move. We’ll lean on each other, our bodies together, There may not be music but we feel the groove. [REPEAT CHORUS] I hold you, you hold me. We’ll probably pass out eventually. You hold me, and I hold you. It’s all that we’ve ever wanted to do. [REPEAT CHORUS]

Pieces not fitting, nothing sticking, can’t you hear the clock ticking? Kids are sassing, storms amassing, don’t you just feel the time passing? I know you have places to go, why are you going so, so slow? Are there some fires to put out, why then should you scream and shout. [PRECHORUS] Ranting, raving, now why are you misbehaving? Burning, crashing, at least we all still look so smashing. [CHORUS] You designed this situation with your endemic impatience. Now you think I’ve got the fix somewhere in this bag of tricks. You absolve yourself of guilt for the house of cards you’ve built. You won’t get away with that. Constant straining, but no gaining, can’t you just sense the day waning? Fabric rending, something’s pending, soon enough things will be ending. So many places that you’ve been, all of this could have been foreseen. Now your life’s not full of clover, you’re asking for a do-over. [REPEAT PRECHORUS & CHORUS] Now you say you’re afraid no one’s coming to your aid. So you shout and you spout that you need a way out. Now you hope as you grope at the end of your rope. But don’t pray as you sway, no one’s going to save the day. [REPEAT CHORUS]

Nevermore 02:24
We all have bad dreams, we all have things to hide. We all locked in (chicky baby), we all feel trapped inside. We all know things we’d rather not, we’ve been through lots of crap. (You’ve got that right) Still other things we’ll never see, no time to take a nap. (Yawn) I think you understand it well. You grew up in a living hell. And now you’re putting other people through it. There are things you want to change, there are piles of regrets. Lots of things we’ll never do, and tons of misplaced bets. We’ve all done things we’d rather not have, we’ve seen a lot of crap. Still other we’ll never do and things we can’t take back. I think you comprehend my views. It’s like I’m walking in your shoes. You’re making those around you feel like you did.

It seems like it was maybe only yesterday My mom would take me to the park and I would play. She’d say “it’s time to go” and I would cry “let’s stay.” But she’d promise we’d return again another day. The next thing I remember I was sailing the seas. We could take on the world, my friends and me. I thought I’d see everything there was to see. But I still didn’t know what I was supposed to be. [PRECHORUS] You can’t always take the road less travelled as the threads of your life become unravelled. [CHORUS] Ten years, twenty years, thirty years, forty years… Where did they all go? Where did they all go? I really gotta know, where did they all go? Where did they all go? Where did they all go? I really gotta know, where did they all go? A lot of years slipped away without my attention, While I was doing things I probably shouldn’t mention. A pound of cure is all we have when there’s no prevention. And now it won’t be long ‘til I collect a pension. [REPEAT PRECHORUS & CHORUS] Now I’m winding down for my final rest, Wondering if I ever even passed the test. I was very far from perfect, but I did my best. Now there’s one more thing to say before I end my quest. [REPEAT CHORUS] Where did it all go? Where did it all go? I need a little more time, where did it all go?

You don’t have to set a new world record to be a super man. And even if your past is checkered, I could still be your fan. You don’t have to win the race or have the longest stride, Just be good to others and you’ll find me on your side. [CHORUS] Every life has meaning and each one has a place. You feel like you’re just a grain of sand among the human race. We’re over seven billion strong and growing every day. It doesn’t minimize your role or the importance that you play. There’s no need to have blue ribbons to be a winner in my book. And you don’t have to be driven or have the nicest look. You don’t have to paint a masterpiece or have a brush at all. Just be there for each other to give a hand up if one should fall. [REPEAT CHORUS] The fact is each of us will trip many times along our roads. Just extend your loving grip, the fallen need something to hold. [REPEAT CHORUS]

Hey there, pretty baby, I don’t mean to butt in, While you’re looking so happy sitting here with your friends, But the band is playing music meant to make you move, And I finally figured out that I’ve got nothing to lose, So I’ll come right out and ask before I miss my chance, Will you dance with me? So hey, pretty lady, will you give me a chance? All I really wanna do with you dance. The backbeat of the rhythm has me tapping my toes, And I can see you’re tapping too, if I could be so bold. So I just set down my beer and I walked on over here, Will you dance with me? If you’ve been feeling just a little bored, Come on with me out on the floor. We can lose ourselves in the rhythmic roar, And if things go well we could be doing so much more. So hey, pretty lady, will you give me a chance? All I really wanna do with you dance. The backbeat of the rhythm has me tapping my toes, And I can see you’re tapping too, if I could be so bold. So I just set down my beer and I walked on over here, Will you dance with me? Hey there, pretty baby, I don’t mean to butt in, While you’re looking so happy sitting here with your friends, But the band is playing music meant to make you move, And I finally figured out that I’ve got nothing to lose, So I’ll come right out and ask before I miss my chance, Will you dance with me?

I’d like a few days off from my job, maybe just sit around and be a slob. I’m so tired of pushing paper, let’s get together and have a caper. I’m so tired of giving speeches, let’s kick back some place with sandy beaches. [CHORUS] I think I need a vacation, doesn’t really matter the destination. I’ve worked every day for the last few years, Giving up gallons of blood, sweat, and tears. It’s past time for some recreation. I think I need a vacation. I’m so sick of all this frustration. I think I need a vacation. I’d like a little bit of time away, it’s getting so hard to face another day. I’m so bored with this damned city, let’s go somewhere where the scenes are pretty. I’m so sick of all this frustration, let’s go away on a long vacation. [REPEAT CHORUS] I’m overdue for some R&R, come on, Babe, let’s load the car, Send the kids to stay with a friend, and act like we’re eighteen again. Eighteen again. [REPEAT CHORUS]

Bad Town 03:09
Here you are in your new town, not sure you know up from down. No one here knows your name and every street looks the same. Every tavern, every bar, all the same where you are. Every nightclub, every scene, all the same. Inside you scream. [CHORUS] You don’t have to stay in shit town, You can always come back home. You have friends and family waiting, You need never walk alone. Now the flowers are in bloom, And the air is sweet and fine. You will always have a room in our hearts and in our minds. There you are at your new scene, you left mine to live your dream. But the world’s not what you hoped, a different swing but the same old rope. Every corner, every curb, everybody looks disturbed. And every time you close your eyes, there I am hiding inside. [REPEAT CHORUS]
